| In the late 90's,
Atlanta's India Arie stood poised to make a major impact. A
studied songwriter and guitar player rooted in the R&B, soul,
Motown, and blues of the past, but grounded in the post hip-hop
urban world of today, she was soon signed
to a deal with Motown and by chance formed a writing
relationship with Blue that bore almost immediate fruit. |
 |
In 2000,
Blue had a song, sung by a then-unknown India Arie, in a major
motion picture. An acid-drenched satire about the state of
blacks in network television today, Bamboozled
embraced bad taste in an effort to get across a larger, much
more troubling point. Director Spike Lee chose to include an
India Arie/Blue Miller song entitled
In My Head.

India Arie's Motown debut, Acoustic Soul (2001),
was rich with textured songs, kooks, and impressively mature
lyrics considering the artist had only been writing songs for
five years. Containing 4 songs co-written with Blue (including
Back To The Middle, Ready For Love,
Always In My Head and Beautiful),
this landmark debut was nominated for several Grammies that
year.
Blue also co-produced 3 tracks on Acoustic Soul (Back
To The Middle, Ready For Love and
Beautiful). His was among the names nominated when the
album was nominated for ALBUM OF THE YEAR.

The much-anticipated new CD from India Arie, entitled
Voyage To India, contains 2 more songs
by Blue. Look for it in stores near you or online. |

Isle and Blue working on the new stuff
|
In
2001, Blue appeared as a session player (as well as the writer
of 2 songs, Ride The Wind To Me and I Still
Cry) on a CD by
Ilse
DeLange, a beautiful and talented Dutch performer. That
effort, entitled Livin' On Love, was the beginning
of an ongoing relationship that has resulted in some great songs
and tracks being produced by Blue on Ilse in Nashville. Stay
tuned for more!! |

Blue
October, a Texas indie-rock quintet based in Houston.
Their last CD, Consent To Treatment, was released
by Universal, with production by Blue (among others). New
material is being developed and recorded with Blue for a new CD. |
